Over the Christmas break, the U15 Rumi basketball team dedicated an entire day to volunteering at the local food bank, where they rolled up their sleeves to help sort donations, organize shelves, and clean the facility. The players worked together with enthusiasm and teamwork, bringing the same energy they show on the court to their community service. In just three seasons, this incredible group of scholar-athletes along with their committed coaches and families have made their mark with a season full of thrilling victories, standout performances and incredible growth on and off the court.
While we celebrate these accomplishments with pride, the team knows the journey is far from over. As we often say:
‘Beyond mountains, there are mountains’. At its core, this proverb suggests that: When you overcome one challenge, another one often lies ahead.
But it’s not meant to be discouraging — rather, it’s a reminder of the ongoing nature of effort, learning, and growth. Whether in sports, personal and community development, leadership, or life, we never truly “arrive.” Every peak we reach (or challenge we overcome) reveals new learning, new perspectives and new opportunities to grow.
Our players understand that they are not just athletes — they are integrative leaders who understand that success is about more than just winning games. Each player remains focused, humble and committed to learning toward the betterment of self, others, and the world.
Congratulations to the team, coaches, and families on an extraordinary season — and here’s to continuing the climb together!
